A 7-year-old boy was rescued unconscious from a hotel pool in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, this Sunday and subsequently transferred to the Hospital Universitario de Canarias. The incident involved a British national staying at a local resort.
The Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112 Canarias reported that the child was found unconscious in the pool by the hotel lifeguard. The Service of Urgent Care of the Canary Islands (SUC) dispatched two ambulances to the scene following the alert.
Medical personnel provided immediate assistance to the boy, who exhibited moderate symptoms of drowning. After stabilizing him, the child was urgently transported to the hospital for specialized treatment.
Authorities have not released further details on the boy's current condition but emphasized that the quick actions of the lifeguard and emergency responders were critical in his stabilization.
